Random Shit of The Day
I laughed for a really long time after I saw this. Its so true. She looks exactly like a Klingon lol. Also, Andy you may be excited to know that during my Acoustics class today I started thinking about a silencer. Over then following 3 hours I came up with a preliminary design that I'll have to sketch out again and post. Its going to consist of 3 layers and 2 pieces. The middle layer will be an interchangeable medium so we can test different shapes and materials. Would be best (and safest) tested on a 22.
I might have to commission a machine shop to make it, as it may require CNC accuracy to actual work. Also, I don't know if its even close to legal, so I'll have to look into that too. I'd rather not get into trouble for something like this.

Ong Bak 2
It's not a true sequel. Different timeline, characters, and story, but same awesomeness. It looks purchase worthy.
Edit: better one

Don't Talk to Cops
If you guys have a free hour you should watch these videos. They sum up the Fifth Amendment and Miranda Warnings and why you shouldn't talk to cops under any circumstances. It's kind of scary what they can do with your ignorance and innocent self contradictions. I've done some the examples they talked about like at traffic stops.
The first video is from the point of view of a trial lawyer. More theory of law and evidence.
The second video is from the point of view of an experienced cop. More real life examples of traffic stops and interrogations.

Badass Pioneer
Today, I woke up and turned on the tv. Of course, it was on one of our hunting channels. My dad loves that shit. I start watching... they're pretty good on this channel. So one comes up and they're talking about this guy named Hugh Glass. He goes on a trip to explore the Missouri River in 1823, where South Dakota/Montana is now. He comes along a grizzly and her cubs and before he can shoot his rifle, the bear picks him up, slams him to the ground, and starts to maul him. Hes fighting it off with his knife when his friends come save his ass. Hes got a broken leg and claw marks all over, including some that have his bare ribs showing. He tries to walk but ends up passing out. Everybody decides hes dead, so they take all his equipment and weapons and leave him. Some time later the guy wakes up. What does he do? Die? No. He manages to navigate 200 miles to the nearest fort. Seriously. He couldn't walk. He crawled 200 miles. What a fucking badass. Also... I found this picture with google, but its from badassoftheweek.com lol.

Al-Si Phase Diagram
Donnie, here's an interactive Al-Si phase diagram I used for the lab report. Much easier to find the wt% of Si using this than with the lab handout phase diagram.
Everyone else, enjoy.
EDIT
Donnie, good point about the complex phase diagrams. This isn't the only one they had. Here are the others. This one is Fe-C. Holy shit - Cu-Sn.

Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy
So this group of Italian film students got together and made a Metal Gear fanfilm inspired by Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. It's called Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy. For being made with a budget of $14000 it's surprisingly good. At first I thought it was CG animation, but it's live action with some sort of filter that gives it that greenish hue seen in the video games. The film is split into a trilogy with this first 70 minute installation entitled "The Overnight Nation".
I was drunk when I first saw it, but when I did I thought it was amazing. Snake actually sounds and looks like Snake. It's a free download so check it out.

My Next Gun
I've had my CPL for a while now and never carried a pistol yet. I need something smaller yet reliable and powerful enough for a carry gun. I missed an opportunity to get one of these a week ago due to being at work. Here are the Ruger specs, something to compare its size. Yeah, i also noted the GIANT recall at the top of the ruger page, that issue is probably resolved...
