Making Cars Environmentally Unfriendly

Here you see a car whose performance has been augmented by a big, stupid looking tree and attaching it to the roof. Now its super non-aerodynamic and has extra weight on it. Additionally, its probably not legal. Whatever the cost, the important thing is that it sends a huge message. It says "I'm so fucking cool that I wasted my time and money by making my car into a 3500 lb. paper weight." I took this picture today with my phone, and yes... it is a car parked in downtown Ann Arbor. I thought it was really funny because it probably has worse performance than Andy's truck hauling a 30' trailer lol.

Anyway, the real reason I made a new post: joke time!! Hopefully these are two new jokes that you guys haven't heard, because they were new to me until today. There was no good way to hid the answer, so its in black text right after the question marks. Just highlight to read:

Whats a word that starts with n and ends with r and is something you never want to call a black person?? Neighbor

What do 9 out of 10 people enjoy??? Gang rape

I think we all know that the best jokes are the most offensive lmao.

Ben = Sad

Well, I now realize that if I want to get a good computer, I'll probably end up getting a Radeon graphics card, although I'm not typically a fan. They're nice but nVidia is usually better. The problem is that AMD owns ATI now, so a lot of AMDs stuff is optimized to work with ATI. Basically, if I want the best from both my videocard and my processor, I may have to save my money and buy Intel. Oh well, I guess I'm too broke to worry about it anyway.

Oh, and I saw this ad and have no idea wtf they're even talking about. Accelerate reality? Seriously? Like... as in... "I have an ATI videocard, and it helps my life run SOOO much more smoothly"? Is this supposed to be the ultimate pitch to the WoW crowd? lol whatever

One Up

This is a Soviet nuclear reactor on tracks. I'm sure it had all the latest in 1940's Soviet nuclear safety measures.
Found it at this Russian blogger's blog. Funny shit.

Schwerer Gustav

This, my friends, was Hitler's uber weapon. Its basically the most badass weapon of all time, aside from that one bomb we blew up Japan with. My bad Andy, I was wrong. It weighed an insane amount, but the crazy numbers I was coming up with had to do with the size of the train that had to carry it. Anyway, the gun itself weighed 1350 metric tonnes (~1500 tons), fired 80cm shells that weighed about 7.1 metric tonnes (~7.8 tons), and was hauled by 25 train cars that totaled a length of about a 1 mile. Its tested max range was about 37 km (23 mi) when firing 7.1 metric tonne armor piercing rounds. Oh, and it was supported by 80 axles (LOL).

Needless to say, this thing owned everything at fairly high accuracy and if you got his by that shell, you would never know because it would pulverize you into nothingness. Here's a picture that should give you an idea of what the shell looks like compared to this T-34 Soviet tank. That thing's solid. They had explosive and rocket rounds, but I don't think they ever got around to using them.

I'm sure you know this already, but it's a well known fact that the day this baby was commissioned, Hitler looked to his peers and said "Hella fuckin balls to the wall awesome" (loosely translated), then Einstein popped out of the cockpit and high-fived everyone.

Awesome Comic

Well, if you guys don't read this comic, then you totally should. Not sure if you've already heard of it, or if I've told you about it before. Anyway, I thought this one was hilarious lol.

While totally unrelated, I thought it was important to tell you all that I just learned that Dave Grohl recorded the first Foo Fighters album by HIMSELF lol. It wasn't publicly released, but he actually sat his ass down and seperately recorded each part, then mixed it. It mostly ended up being released as singles - which I plan to track down. I'll let you know if they're bad, but if they're actually good... then Dave Grohl is a total badass... and Nirvana was like... the greatest band ever composed... and I'm sure Andy will agree.

LOL @ Michigan

From mlive:

LANSING -- Michigan's January unemployment rate rose to 11.6 percent, the highest monthly mark recorded in the state since early 1984.

It's likely Michigan's latest jobless figure released Thursday will be the highest in the nation, as it has been for most of the past three years. But some states have not yet reported their January unemployment rates.

Michigan's revised December unemployment rate was 10.2 percent, according to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. It originally was reported at 10.6 percent.

Economists have predicted that Michigan's jobless situation will worsen in 2009.

The national unemployment rate for January was 7.6 percent, up from 7.2 percent.

A promising day of uberizing my computer on the eve of empire's launch goes horribly wrong...

Free Pro/Engineer

PTC is offering a free seat of Pro/Engineer Wildfire 4 to all college students. This is the program I use at work. It's by far my favorite modeling software. Plus, the license is perpetual and the sheet metal and mechanism modules are included.

If you do use it I can send you the config file from work if you want. That's for setting the settings, toolbars, look and feel, etc.
